Review: The Iron Traitor (The Iron Fey: Call of The Forgotten #2) by Julie Kagawa

Synopsis
In the real world, when you vanish into thin air for a week, people tend to notice.

15811405After his unexpected journey into the lands of the fey, Ethan Chase just wants to get back to normal.
Well, as "normal" as you can be when you see faeries every day of your life. Suddenly the former loner with the bad reputation has someone to try for - his girlfriend, Kenzie. Never mind that he's forbidden to see her again.

But when your name is Ethan Chase and your sister is one of the most powerful faeries in the Nevernever, "normal" simply isn't to be. For Ethan's nephew, Keirran, is missing, and may be on the verge of doing something unthinkable in the name of saving his own love. Something that will fracture the human and faery worlds foverever, and give rise to the dangerous fey known as the Forgotten. As Ethan's and Keirran's fates entwine and Keirran slips further into darkness, Ethan's next choice may decide the fate of them all.

Opinion
It had been over a year since I read the first book in this series, The Lost Prince, and to be honest a lot of the story line I didn’t remember. But after just a couple of pages everything came back and after the Iron Fey series and The Lost Prince it was easy to lose myself again in the fey world.

After hating the fey for so long and dreading the world they live in, the Nevernever, Ethan now helps his nephew Keirran, who is half human, half fey, willingly out when he is in trouble. And he evens goes back in to the Nevernever, a place that he swore he would never get back into. After all it were the fey who took his sister Megan all those years ago, they are the reason he never sees her again. They are to blame for everything that went wrong in his life. At least that’s what he has always thought to be true. But when a friend and your family asks for help, you don’t refuse it. And this time he isn’t along, his friend Kenzie won’t leave his side even when he wants her to be safe in the human world. Kenzie is a strong headed girl, who’s determined to make the best of the days she has still left.
The Nevernever is still as dangerous as before, if not more know that the Forgotten are back and stronger than ever. Ethan and his friends must find a way to fix everything that they have broken and time is ticking away fast.
One of the things I loved the most about this book is that we got to see Puck again, I can’t remember if we got to see him in The Lost Prince, but in The Iron Traitor he got a fairly huge role. Which I loved since he was one of my favorite characters in the Iron Fey series and with Puck in tow a book can never get boring. And I loved that Ethan developed more as a characters, some of the walls he had been building for years came finally down. He realizes that he’s not alone anymore and that the people in his life do not plan to leave him soon.
Kagawa had some interesting plot twist to show us and I kept turning page after page to find out what would happen next. And then there were suddenly no pages left… I can’t wait to read the next book in this series, and I’m sitting on the edge of my seat because of the major cliffhanger I still can’t believe Kagawa did that to us… Anyway I loved this book and I hope that the next book will come out soon!
