Synopsis
Allison O’Malley’s plan is to go to grad school so she can get a good job and take care of her schizophrenic mother. She has carefully closed herself off from everything else, including a relationship with Ethan, who she’s been in love with for as long as she can remember.What is definitely not part of the plan is the return of her long-lost father, who claims he can bring Allison’s mother back from the dark place her mind has gone. Allison doesn’t trust her father, so why would she believe his stories about a long forgotten Irish people, the Tuatha de Danaan? But truths have a way of revealing themselves. Secrets will eventually surface. And Allison must learn to set aside her plan and work with her father if there is even a small chance it could restore her mother’s sanity.
Opinion
The plot of
this book was great only the beginning was rather slow in comparison to the
ending. The magical elements of this
story were subtly woven into the plot. That way you experienced it just like
Allison did. Allison was an easy person to like. She takes care of the people
she loves, including her mom, her cousin Nicole and her friend Ethan, and she’ll
never let them down. That also means that she tries to never disappoint any of
them and to make them happy if she can. Once the supernatural elements entered
the story the romance part was sometimes hard to find. And that’s a shame ‘cause
I liked the chemistry between Allison and Ethan. But I think that we get to see
more of it in the next book. At times it
was hard for me to understand the story, it was like Allison knew more about
the fey world than the readers did. So at times I felt a little lost, but the
plot was still easy to follow. And I was said that the story ended so fast, I
wouldn’t have minded if it was a few chapters longer, definitely after reading
the ending! I’m very curious to see what will happen to Allison in the fey world
and in the human world.

Nancy Drew, Sweet Valley High and other girly novels were routinely devoured in single sittings. Books took a backseat to diapers when she had her first child. It wasn’t until the release of a little novel called Twilight, 8 years later, that she rediscovered her love of fiction. Soon after, her own characters began to make themselves known.
