All Our Yesterdays by Cristin Terrill

Synopsis
13514612"You have to kill him." Imprisoned in the heart of a secret military base, Em has nothing except the voice of the boy in the cell next door and the list of instructions she finds taped inside the drain.

Only Em can complete the final instruction. She’s tried everything to prevent the creation of a time machine that will tear the world apart. She holds the proof: a list she has never seen before, written in her own hand. Each failed attempt in the past has led her to the same terrible present—imprisoned and tortured by a sadistic man called the doctor while war rages outside.

Marina has loved her best friend James since the day he moved next door when they were children. A gorgeous, introverted science prodigy from one of America’s most famous families, James finally seems to be seeing Marina in a new way, too. But on one disastrous night, James’s life crumbles apart, and with it, Marina’s hopes for their future. Now someone is trying to kill him. Marina will protect James, no matter what. Even if it means opening her eyes to a truth so terrible that she may not survive it. At least not as the girl she once was.

All Our Yesterdays is a wrenching, brilliantly plotted story of fierce love, unthinkable sacrifice, and the infinite implications of our every choice.

Opinion
This book was really good and after finishing it I have the feeling that I’ll be dreaming about it tonight. This book had all the elements to be perfect: time travelling, a lot of action, assignation attempts, a distant war, romance  and most of all friendship and loyalty.

There are two different point of views in this book, Em and Miranda. And at first that’s a bit confusing because you don’t know what connects the two girls but that gets clear after a couple of chapters. Everything in this book was great and there were so many twist and turns that it was impossible to know what would happen next and the book left me often shocked because I could never have imagined it myself. So it was impossible to put this book down and I kept reading it all day long till I finished it.
The characters were great to, both the future and the past characters. Em and Miranda are both so different but at the same time they are very alike. Miranda’s afraid off what other people might think about her while Em is a though girl who fights for the greater good. James is the genius of the group, he smart a little too smart for his own good maybe. His actions might not always be good, but I still liked him and felt sorry for him in the end. And then we’ve got Finn. I just loved this guy, his witty comments and how he cares for his friends. I wish he was a real life person.
I only can say positive things about this book and I probably could keep talking about it all day long. So this is definitely a book that you must read!
