My Dream Loot Crate: Sherlock Holmes

Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box service for geeks and gamers alike. And they want to find out what you would put in your very own Dream Crate. If you feel inspirational, creative or it just sounds like fun then definitely don't hesitate to create your very own Dream Loot Crate and make sure to head over to their crate subscription page for more information!

I am a big Sherlock fan so I decided to center my dream crate around him. Here's what my personal dream crate would look like:

A magnifying glass and letter opener decorated with the image of the World's Greatest Detective:  A letter opener and a  magnifying glass because you would not be able to walk into the footsteps of the greatest detective of all times without these two items!

[Sherlock: A Study in Pink (Product Image)]I recently discovered the world of Manga and as it turns out they have a manga adaptation of the tv series. I need this so badly!!

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor irene adler funko popsIrene Adler is probably one of my favorite characters that ever appeared on the show. She is just amazing so I wouldn't mind having a funko pop of her on my shelves.

A poster with all the wisdom of Sherlock Holmes. I guess we can all use a bit of his advice from time to time (even though that we might not always understand it).

Because we can all use a good mug for the cup of tea/coffee we enjoy while watching or reading Sherlock.

And of course my dream crate would not be complete if it did not contain the vintage classic edition of Sherlock Holmes by Penguine.

Let me know what would be in your dream crate!

Apology

Hi guys!

I want to apologize for my lack of posting this past month. These past months in general I have posted less posts then I normally do. I worked in the United States during the summer months and there was so much going on all the time, so many new things and so many new people, that I had not as much time to read and blog as I had wished. After I finished work I traveled around for three weeks. I had a blast during these weeks but I just could not find the time to blog unfortunately. Two weeks ago I arrived back home in Belgium. I thought I would have more time once I got back but the opposite is true. Catching up with friends and family has taken up a lot of my time. On top of that I am in the process of searching for a job in London, yet a different country, and it is quiet time consuming. So there is little time left for me to read and blog at this point in my life. I hope to get back on my normal reading and blogging schedule soon because I do really miss it all. I just wanted to explain to all of you why I have been so absent these past months because you as my readers deserve it. Also for to all the authors and publishers who have send me books. I am way behind on my schedule regarding reviews. Normally this is not how I operate and I am hoping to catch up on all your books really soon!

Trailer Reveal: The Book of Ivy by Amy Engel

20640755Title: The Book of Ivy
Author: Amy Engel
Genre: Dystopian, YA
Publisher: Entagled Teen
Publication date: 11 November 2014
Buy links: Amazon | B&N | iTunes | Kobo

After a brutal nuclear war, the United States was left decimated. A small group of survivors eventually banded together, but only after more conflict over which family would govern the new nation. The Westfalls lost. Fifty years later, peace and control are maintained by marrying the daughters of the losing side to the sons of the winning group in a yearly ritual.

This year, it is my turn.

My name is Ivy Westfall, and my mission is simple: to kill the president’s son—my soon-to-be husband—and return the Westfall family to power.

But Bishop Lattimer is either a very skilled actor or he’s not the cruel, heartless boy my family warned me to expect. He might even be the one person in this world who truly understands me. But there is no escape from my fate. I am the only one who can restore the Westfall legacy.

Because Bishop must die. And I must be the one to kill him…

About the author

Amy Engel was born in Kansas and after a childhood spent bouncing between countries (Iran, Taiwan) and states (Kansas, California, Missouri, Washington, D.C.), she settled in Kansas City, Missouri where she lives with her husband and two kids. Before devoting herself full time to motherhood and writing, she was a criminal defense attorney, which is not quite as exciting as it looks on TV. When she has a free moment, she can usually be found reading, running, or shoe shopping.

I am back!

Hi guys!

I’m back home since last weekend. I had a wonderful two months in the States. I met so many wonderful people who I can call my friends now. So I was quiet upset when the time was there for me to go back to Belgium. My goodbyes went together with a lot of tears, luckily there are things as the internet these days!

A few pictures to show you why my summer was so amazing:

I got to call this place home for two months!

Celebrating my first of 4th of July

We had a 90's roller skate party, it was so much fun!

Kayaking on the lake.

But most importantly: making new friends!!
So from now on you can back again more post from me on a more regular basis. I hope everyone's summer was as great as mine!

Big announcement!

Hi guys!

First of all I want to thank you all for following my blog, commenting and reading all my rambling thoughts on books. You guys are amazing!

Now on to the annoucement. This summer, from the beginning of June till the end of August, I will not be as active as I normally am. I got a summer job in the US this summer and I am leaving on Monday, so excited! But because I will be working a lot, meeting new people and adjusting to this whole new situation I will not be able to read as much as I normally do. I will try to post as many blog post as I can though. I’ve already prescheduled some posts. But I just wanted to let you guys know why I won’t be as much around as normal and why my responding time might be longer than usual.

Many thanks for your understanding and I hope to see you all back in September!

Vampire Academy: Blood sisters (The movie)

As you all know (or not) Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead is turned into a movie. Filming will start any moment now in the UK and the release day is planned on February 14th 2013. So I thought that is was time to dedicate a post to this future movie. Below you can find an overview of the most important castmembers:

Zoey Deutch as Rose Hathaway
Zoey is a good Rose to me, sure she isn’t ‘exotic’ but well I can live with that. The only thing that bothers me is that I imagined Rose voice totally different than Zoeys voice. But I’m sure that I will get used to it. And we all know that Zoey is an amazing actress!

Lucy Fry as Lissa Dragomir
Never heard of her before and I’m not so sure about her looks. I imagined Lissa always a bit softer, Lucy has a strong jaw line. But other than that she’s fine and I’ve complete trust in the casting directors that they know what they are doing.

Danila Kozlvosky as Dimitri Belikov
Danilla is just perfect, sure he has to let his hair grow, but look at him! Yep I can perfectly imagine him as Dimitri. And that he’s Russian is definitely a plus point!

Gabriel Byrne as Victor Dashkov
Well I’ve never seen a movie with him before, but he definitely has a Victor look.

Dominic Sherwood as Christian Ozera
He looks a bit ‘dark’ so he’s going to be a fine Christian.

Ogla Kurylenko as Headmistress Kirova
I always imagined Kirova older, but I think that Olga can pull it off.

Joely Richardson as Queen Tatiana

I think that she will be a perfect Queen.

Sarah Hyland as Natalie Dashkov

She definitely got the looks!

Cameron Monaghan as Mason Ashford
Isn’t he cute?! He’s another reason to go watch the movie! And he definitely got the right looks to play Mason.

Sami Gayle as Mia Rinaldi

The only thing that she has to do is let her hair grow and she will be perfect for the role.

Claire Foy - Sonya Karp

Yep definitely Sonya Karp. I can imagine her craziness already.

Other:
  • Edward  Holcroft  as Aaron
  • Ben Peel as Spiridon
  • Mark Lewis as Priest
  • Dave as Oscar (the cat)

Director: Mark Waters (Freaky Friday, Mean Girls, Just Like Heaven)
Screenplay wrighter: Daniel Waters (Heathers)

See you later xx
